Sat, May 5 - Free Kids Health Fair

Des Moines University is holding a FREE Kids Health Fair day on campus on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. We wanted to make sure those families in our surrounding neighborhoods knew about this awesome event.

Our mission is to promote activity and fight obesity. Join our crew in conquering an obstacle course, learning new games and getting your body into tip-top shape.

9/11 - FREE Des Moines Art Center Event (Rose Garden and Kids Activities)

The City of Des Moines Park and Recreation Department invites you to gather your family and friends to enjoy a special Grand Parent’s Day at Clare and Miles Mills Rose Garden on September 11.

The event will be held from 1pm to 4pm and will feature kids’ crafts and activities, live music, refreshments available to purchase from Caio Catering, informational facts about the garden, croquet, local artists and much more! The Art Center will be open throughout the event, and we encourage participants to visit the displays. The center also offers a Family Fun Time station that encourages family interaction as you learn about the Art Center and its galleries. The station is located in the lobby.

There is no admission for this event to visit the Des Moines Art Center. Participants are encouraged to park at the rose garden entrance.
